I lost my Sunday 2-Star Best Bet on San Antonio, but some of you were able to get Kentucky at -1 over North Carolina for 2-Stars. About 30% of the books moved to -1 at some point but the consensus line never moved to -1, so I can't officially count Kentucky as a Best Bet win (a Strong Opinion for most and I also won my opinion on VCU).

The difference between most winning streaks and losing streaks is the results on close games. When I win more close games than I lose I'm usually up big and my losing streaks are usually during periods when I lose more close games than I win - and I've lost a lot of close games in the past couple of weeks. I'm just 4-13-3 on games decided by 3 points or less the last 3 weeks (34-30 on Best Bets decided by more than 3 points). I'll bounce back (I always do) as long as I'm at least splitting the close ones (which I should do in the long run). Earlier this season I went from +40 Stars down to +15 Stars then won 37 Stars over the next 3 weeks, so things can turn around quickly.

For the season I am 382-329-12 on a Star Basis (2-2 on 4-Stars, 54-47-2 on 3-Stars and 106-90-3 on 2-Stars) for a profit of +20.1 Stars at -1.10 odds.

I was 0-3 on my Tuesday night NBA 2-Star Best Bets, losing both close games with Washington +16 and Dallas -1 1/2. The other loss was a blowout with Milwaukee getting beaten by 25 points. I've bounced back from nights worse than -6.6 Stars and I'm still up 39.3 Stars for the season.

I've lost a lot of close games in the past week, as I'm just 3-10-2 on games decided by 3 points or less since two Saturdays ago (18-13 on Best Bets decided by more than 3 points). I'm still doing pretty well despite losing most of the close games recently and I was at just +15 Stars just 4 weeks ago and now I'm at +39.3 Stars.

For the season I am 344-277-9 on a Star Basis (2-1 on 4-Stars, 50-37-1 on 3-Stars and 93-81-3 on 2-Stars) for a profit of +39.3 Stars at -1.10 odds.

The College post season is historically a very good time of the year for me. In fact, last year I was only up +3.7 Stars of profit for the season at the end of February and I got up to +50 Stars by the NCAA Tournament Championship game. This season, I've gone from +15 Stars to +39.3 Stars in the last few weeks.

I split my two Sunday Best Bets for a small profit, winning my 3-Star Best Bet on Detroit -6 (won by 11) and losing 2-Stars with Boston -7 (won by 6), which was my 4th 1 point loss in two days. I also heard from some of you that found Wake Forest at +17, which would have made them a 2-Star winner, but the majority of the books stayed at +16 1/2, so it was officially just an opinion. This past week was my 3rd consecutive winning week (and 5th in 6 weeks) and I'm excited about the big week of conference tournaments coming up (I'm 60% in conference tournament Best Bets the last 6 years, including 10-4 this year).

For the season I am 313-238-4 on a Star Basis (2-0 on 4-Stars, 45-32 on 3-Stars and 85-71-2 on 2-Stars) for a profit of +51.2 Stars at -1.10 odds.

Tuesday College Opinion
Toledo (+19 ½) over OHIO
Rotation #587 – 4 pm Pacific
Toledo is a horrendous 4-27 team but the Rockets are 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 games as a dog of 11 points or more this season and they apply to a 13-0 ATS conference tournament situation that plays on horrible teams on a 7 game or more losing streak. Toledo hasn’t been as good without injured #2 scorer and top rebounder G Reese Holliday, but my ratings favor Ohio by 20 points after adjusting for Holliday, so the line is pretty fair. I’ll lean with Toledo based on that 13-0 ATS angle.

I passed on Sunday (and Monday) but I was 6-1 on my 7 Saturday Best Bets and had a second consecutive good week.
 
For the season I am 272-208-4 on a Star Basis (1-0 on 4-Stars, 40-24 on 3-Stars and 74-68-2 on 2-Stars) for a profit of +43.2 Stars at -1.10 odds (a new season high). The 2-Stars being around 50% so far is just random variance at work. In fact, the 2-Stars have been profitable over the years and were 118-87-3 last season.
